New President for Australian Aerosol Association

The Aerosol Association of Australia, has a new President: David Cowper. He was elected at  the annual Meeting in Sydney on September 17.

Cowper joined the Association’s Executive Committee in 2002 and is Technical Services Manager for Melbourne-based contract filler, Ensign Laboratories.

He has worked in the aerosol industry for almost 25 years and has a Bachelor of Science from Monash University in Melbourne. His career to date has seen him work in many areas in the industry, ranging from roles in quality control and research and development through to account management. He also recently managed the implementation of Ensign’s ERP system.

As Convenor of the Association’s training initiative, David oversaw an expansion of the Association’s training programme, a programme that has now trained over 220 industry personnel from Australia and the wider region, including China, India, Japan, New Zealand and Thailand .

“I am proud to lead the Association in its 51st year and look forward to continuing the work of my predecessor in re-focussing the Association to the demands of an internationally competitive sector delivering safe, sustainable products for industry and consumers”, David noted.

“Lifting skills is key to this mission and I look forward to ensuring that our training offering – which has been expanded over the past three years to cover a diverse range of topics from sustainability to innovation, labelling and regulatory compliance – remains relevant and responsive to the needs of the sector”.

Retiring President, John Bigley, Managing Director of Jamestrong Packaging, stays on the Association Executive as Immediate Past President while David Gurr, Supply Chain Manager for Sydney-based Pax Australia is Vice-President.
