CSPA Affiliate Forms Consortia to Navigate New Prop 65 Restriction
Written on: February 4, 2016 by SprayTM
In response to the State of California recently adding Bisphenol A (BPA) to its Proposition 65 list of chemicals, the Research & Regulatory Management Council (RRMC), a program within Consumer Specialty Products Association (CSPA), is forming a new consortia of companies that manufacture, formulate, distribute and/or sell consumer products containing BPA. It will generate scientific data and prepare companies to defend against Proposition 65 litigation related to BPA Maximum Allowable Dosage Level (MADL). Membership in the new RRMC consortia is open to CSPA member and non-CSPA member companies. The State of California has set a deadline of May 11, 2016 for companies to add a warning to their label, use an alternative to BPA, cease sale of all products containing BPA, or establish a Maximum Allowable Dosage Level (MADL) and ensure products are below the limit.
If your company is interested in joining the consortia, please contact Jessica Bartlow, Director, RRMC (jbartlow@cspa.org, (202) 833-7328
