ACI Strengthens Membership Team, Promotes Four

The American Cleaning Institute (ACI) welcomed association membership professional Ann Cothran as Senior Manager, Membership, which is a new position.

ACI, which is the trade association for the cleaning product supply chain, also announced promotions of four team members in its government affairs, scientific and administrative groups.

Cothran joins ACI after more than nine years at the U.S. Travel Association, where she served as Manager, Member Services. Prior to that, she served in membership and marketing roles at the National Housing Conference, Association Management Group and Prudential Carruthers Realtors.

“ACI is focused on delivering exemplary service to our member companies while growing the base of innovative companies in our cleaning product supply chain membership. Ann Cothran brings to our team the knowledge, experience and energy to meet these needs,” said Melissa Hockstad, ACI President & CEO.

 Cothran, who will report to Vice President of Membership Brian Sansoni, graduated Morgan State University with a B.S. in Marketing, and received a Master of Project Management degree from Keller Graduate School of Management.

The promotions within ACI’s office include:

  • Jacob Cassady to Director, Government Affairs. He joined ACI in 2010 and previously was Associate Director, Government Affairs.


  • Edgar Chavez to Senior Accounting Manager. He has been with ACI since 2005 and was previously Accounting Manager.


  • Darci Ferrer to Senior Manager, Environmental Sciences. She started with ACI in 2011 and previously served as Manager, Environmental Sciences.


  • Wanda Stokes to Senior Director, Human Resources & Administration. She joined ACI in 2003 and was previously Director, Human Resources & Administration.
