HCPA to host EPR webinar on 4/16; speakers announced

On Tuesday, April 16, The Household & Commercial Products Association (HCPA) will present “A Primer on Packaging” webinar. Starting at 1 p.m. EDT, the webinar will cover an overview of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws for packaging.

Join Michael Washburn, a Principal at Washburn Consulting, and Garth Hickle, a Managing Partner at Signalfire Group, as they explore EPR laws for packaging, how they work, what they are intended to do, and who is affected.

As the first U.S. packaging EPR reporting deadlines draw closer and the concept continues to gain momentum, it is essential for companies to get acquainted with this new reality of complex and challenging regulations. The HCPA’s “A Primer on Packaging” webinar that will explore EPR laws for packaging, how they work, what they are intended to do, and who is affected. Specific topics will cover:

  • Who is a producer
  • What is required of producers
  • What is a producer responsibility organization (PRO)
  • The roles of government versus the solid waste sector versus producers
