Axalta Coating Systems, a global coatings company, announced that it has acquired U-POL Australia Pty Ltd and its affiliated entities. These businesses will now operate under the umbrella of U-POL Ltd UK at Axalta.
For close to 30 years, U-POL Australia Pty Ltd and U-POL New Zealand Ltd have been exclusive importers of U-POL products, including the RAPTOR Coatings brand, into the Australian and New Zealand markets.
Mike Pentecost, Global VP for U-POL Ltd at Axalta, stated, “We believe this change will strengthen our local U-POL business in the long term, providing greater access to global systems and resources while maintaining our commitment to innovation and outstanding service for our customers.”
Axalta remains steadfast in ensuring a seamless transition and will continue business as usual, shared the company. As part of this change, Daniel Harper, currently the General Sales & Marketing Manager of U-POL Australia, will assume the role of General Manager—U-POL Australia & New Zealand at Axalta.
Added Pentecost, “The global U-POL team would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the founders of U-POL Australia.
“Their dedication and leadership have built a strong business centered on customer-focused products, marketing and service delivery. It has been a pleasure working alongside the team over the years.”
This acquisition marks an exciting new chapter for U-POL in Australia and New Zealand and is expected to further strengthen its position in the market under Axalta’s leadership.
U-POL’s portfolio of high-quality automotive refinishing products and accessories includes fillers, coatings, aerosols, adhesives, and paint-related products, as well as other automotive aftermarket protective coatings. The addition of these offerings will expand Axalta’s addressable market in the mainstream and economy refinish segments.
