The Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) announced the opening of the application period now through May 30, 2025, for the 2025 Madam C.J. Walker Scholarship. Two $5,000 scholarships, sponsored by Mary Kay, Inc., will be awarded.
“Madam C.J. Walker continues to inspire others through her business, philanthropic, and barrier-breaking legacy,” said Erica O’Grady, CAE, CEO of the Society.
“SCC is proud to recognize that legacy by supporting future cosmetic chemists through the generous sponsorship of Mary Kay, Inc.,” she added.
Now in its fifth year with the support of Mary Kay, Inc., the scholarship program supports under-represented individuals pursuing an undergraduate, graduate or post-graduate degree in STEM disciplines relative to the cosmetics and personal care industry.
Awardees will be notified by the Scholarship Selection Committee by August 1, 2025. In addition to a $5,000 scholarship, each awardee will receive a travel voucher, hotel accommodation, a student poster and full access registration to attend the SCC 79th Annual Scientific Meeting & Showcase, Dec. 15–17, 2025, in New York City.
