On April 17, Proctor & Gamble‘s Gillette brand held a groundbreaking ceremony on a new 200,000 sq. ft. facility in Andover, MA, according to local outlet Andover News. The plant will support Gillette’s aerosol and chemistry manufacturing, blade and razor production and packaging operations.

Massachusetts Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll joined company executives and town officials to help the Gillette Co. break ground on a new building at its 150-acre campus on Burtt Road.
“The company’s continued investment reflects a strong commitment to innovation, job creation and long-term economic vitality in the region,” the town of Andover stated in a Facebook post.
P&G announced in October 2023 that it would be relocating its manufacturing operations from its South Boston headquarters to a new building at Gillette’s Andover campus. Corporate, engineering and R&D teams will remain at the South Boston facility, which will be redeveloped.
The reorganization will bring Gillette’s total Andover workforce to about 650 employees while ending more than a century of razor manufacturing in South Boston, according to Andover News.
