The British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA) has updated its Electrostatic Guidelines.
The BAMA Electrostatic Guidelines 2025 outline safety measures to manage electrostatic hazards in the aerosol industry. Electrostatic charge—generated during production, handling or disposal—can ignite flammable atmospheres, damage equipment or harm personnel. Key controls include earthing, bonding, humidity management, and anti-static clothing.
Employers must conduct risk assessments to comply with UK regulations like DSEAR and COSHH. Critical areas include storage, filling factories, product development, and waste disposal. Proper handling of flammable materials, training personnel, and using licensed waste companies are essential.
