The Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) is now accepting submissions for the 2025 Green Star Award, being presented during the Society’s 79th Annual Scientific Meeting, December 15-17, 2025, at the Sheraton NY Times Square.
The SCC Green Star Award, sponsored by Colonial Chemical, recognizes a green, sustainable formulation developed during the past 12-month period. Award determination is governed by the selection committee, comprised of experienced formulators, assessing the product’s Novelty; Creativity & Claims Efficacy; Green Ingredient Composition; Processing & Energy Use; and Packaging.
“The SCC is proud to recognize the efforts of formulators who design green, natural products while maintaining safety and efficacy with sustainability in mind,” said Erica O’Grady, CAE, CEO of SCC.
Submissions are accepted by completing the online application and providing 5 samples of the commercialized product for evaluation. Applications for the Green Star Award must be received by 11:59 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2025, with product samples postmarked by that date. Visit the Green Star Award web page for details.
The Green Star Award winner will receive an award certificate, honorarium and complimentary SCC membership for one full year, and be invited to accept the award in person at the SCC’s 79th Annual Scientific Meeting & Showcase.
