Can Manufacturers Institute (CMI) announced that Pearce Crosland has joined the association as Senior Director of Government Relations & Regulatory Affairs.

Crosland will serve as CMI’s chief Federal lobbyist and regulatory affairs lead, representing the metal can industry before Congress, Federal agencies, and the Administration, as well as allied stakeholders.
He most recently worked as the Director of Government Affairs for the Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS). He served as the association’s lobbyist in Washington, D.C., advocating on behalf of the industry on Capitol Hill, at the White House and within Federal agencies.
“Pearce’s intimate knowledge of how Washington, D.C. works and his years of experience in Federal Government relations at other associations make him perfectly positioned to elevate CMI’s profile and effectiveness with Federal Government officials,” said CMI President Scott Breen.
“I am confident that under his leadership, CMI will further deliver on a key member value—serving as the can industry’s voice with the federal government to catalyze beneficial action.”
Prior to joining PLASTICS, Crosland spent two years at the Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA) International and nearly five years at the National Restaurant Association. His work as a trade association lobbyist has been recognized by The Hill as a Top Lobbyist in Washington, and by the National Institute for Lobbying & Ethics as one of the Top Trade Association Lobbyists in the country.
“I am thrilled to join CMI and contribute to the important work this organization leads for the metal can industry on behalf of its members,” Crosland said.
