NYSCC pays tribute to former President Mitchell Schlossman

The Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) has paid tribute to Mitchell Lloyd Schlossman, a past President of the New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC), who recently passed away.

A graduate of New York University, Schlossman dedicated his career to cosmetic science as a chemist, inventor and entrepreneur. He served as President of the NYSCC in 1966.

Throughout his career, Schlossman contributed to the growth and professionalism of the industry, said SCC.

“His leadership and service left a lasting mark on the Society and on colleagues who benefited from his knowledge and dedication; the SCC community honors his legacy with gratitude and respect,” SCC said in a statement.

According to Schlossman’s obituary, he passed away on Feb. 18, at the age of 90 in New York, NY, after a lengthy illness.
