Unión Argentina de Aerosolistas (Union of Argentine Aerosolists or UADA) recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, as well as the 10th anniversary its newsletter, Aerosólogo News, “in an unforgettable party in grand style” packed with aerosol artists, suppliers of materials and raw materials, leaders of national and regional entities, and representatives from abroad.

Joining the celebration were Camilo Alberto Kahale, First VP of the Argentine Confederation of Medium-Sized Enterprises (CAME) and President of the Economic Federation of the Province of Buenos Aires (FEBA); Silvio Zurzolo, Treasurer of the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA) and President of the Association of Industrialists of the Province of Buenos Aires (ADIBA); and representatives from related institutions such as the Argentine Aerosol Chamber (CADEA) and the Argentine Chamber of the Cosmetic & Perfumery Industry (CAPA). A highlight of the evening was a visit from Jaime Verver, President of the Latin American Aerosol Federation (FLADA) and head of the Mexican Aerosol Institute (IMAAC), who came to Argentina to promote the upcoming Latin American Aerosol Congress on October 8–9 of this year in Mexico City. Verver highlighted the immense work developed from Latin America to achieve the development of the Aerosol Industry in those countries and the active role of FLADA in uniting those wills.

The cocktail party began with a “spectacular artistic show that immediately left the attendees speechless.” A young man dressed in white danced as he chased a spray can moving across the screen until he finally caught it, shook it, and painted “UADA 20 Years” and “The Aerosologist News 10 Years.”

The first emotional moment of the evening was the recollection of UADA’s journey through these two decades of existence, since in 2005 a group of entrepreneurs with aerosol filling plants began to meet in the “basement” of the Imperial Palace Hotel in the City of Buenos Aires and formed the Argentine Packers Group (GEA).

It was also noted that the protagonists of those early years gradually understood that, in addition to being aerosol fillers, they were “aerosolists,” which shaped the identity of those who would go on to form the Argentine Union of Aerosolists.

Another important moment was the review of some of the institution’s main achievements, such as the Aerosol Groups with a solidarity function, the sponsorship for two years of a room in the Garrhan House, the Aerosol Workshops at the Otto Kruse school and the National Technological University (UTN), the brigadistas course and the management of the environmental areas of FEBA and ADIBA, among others.

The Aerosólogo also had the opportunity to recount its history. Through the voice of Facundo de la Fuente, its creator, the journey was traced from its beginnings with NotiUADA, developed by Enrique Torres, to the creation of a newsletter that today reaches more than 1,200 subscribers worldwide and has already surpassed 100 published editions.

The inaugural review concluded with some special surprises. Dario Steiner, head of the European Aerosol Federation (FEA), and Alyne Freitas, president of the Brazilian Aerosol Association (ABAS), sent their greetings via video message. In addition, there were also video messages from two industry veterans: Geno Nardini, President of Aerosol La Revista, and Teresa Gincberg, founder of Aerofarma.

UADA President Sebastián Giráldez appeared on stage, and although he initially tried to stick to his prepared remarks, he decided to throw away his notes and improvise. The audience’s enthusiasm and the announcer’s playful banter transformed a formal event into a stand-up comedy show that entertained everyone. However, beyond the comedic moment, the message was clear: the need to continue building the growth of the aerosol industry.

The event concluded with the audience waving souvenir scarves in the Argentine colors while singing “Muchachos,” the anthem of the fans at the 2022 Qatar World Cup. The souvenir came packaged in an aerosol can bearing the UADA and Aerosólogo logos.
