Kao Corp. announced it has launched the prestige hair salon brand Oribe in Japan, through its subsidiary, Kao Salon Japan.
Oribe has 23-SKUs in hair care brand and has a robust market presence in salons and department stores in Europe and the U.S. This is the brand’s fifth launch in an Asian country and Kao aims to expand its salon business offerings and enhance its customer base in the region, further strengthening its global presence, the company said in a statement.
Founded in 2008 in New York, Oribe joined the Kao Group in 2018. In the U.S., the brand also includes body care and fragrance products, in addition to hair care products. The products, sold in top-class salons and high-end department stores, target women leading luxury lifestyles.
In Japan, Oribe has been rolled out in selected salons. Lectures will be held on Oribe’s beauty counseling and Oribe’s styles. Moreover, the company will offer a unique brand experience for beauty professionals (beauty writers, stylists, models, etc.) to acquire Oribe fans, improve brand recognition, and establish luxury brand image, Kao Corp. said.
