International aerosol dispensing manufacturer LINDAL Group has invested in a stateoftheart Computed Tomography system, the first of its kind to be used in a manufacturing setting in France, according to the company.

Based at the company’s Global Innovation Centre in Briey, France, the new CT scanning machine utilizes imaging techniques to produce an accurate 3D representation of a scanned object, viewable from multiple angles. Commonly used in the medical field, the system gains detailed information on the internal structures of products and components. Adopting Xray technology, the machine measures, analyzes and inspects the dimensional accuracy of both internal and external features of a product in one simple scan. This information is used to tailor tools and production processes, ensuring that products are manufactured in optimum conditions to the highest standards.

In addition, the scanner will support the company’s Global Innovation Centre to accelerate product development, and reverse engineering processes, through its capability to create Computeraided design (CAD) models from the 3D volume data.

Group Marketing Manager, Kashif Choudhry, noted, “We are always looking at new ways to build on our capabilities and quality processes. We are utilising the latest technology to offer the best service possible for our customers. The new scanner’s capabilities exceed that of existing standard machinery and our investment conveys our continued commitment to the highest possible quality standards now and in the
future.”
